Manhunt underway after man stabbed in St Kilda home by armed intruder

A Melbourne street is in lockdown and a manhunt underway after a man was stabbed by a home intruder this morning.  

Police say a man and woman returned to their flat in Wellington Street, St Kilda, about 4am.

Once inside, they were confronted by a man armed with a knife who stabbed the man in the arm and back before fleeing.

The man was taken to hospital with non-threatening injuries. 

Investigations continue.
