Melbourne man stabbed to death in argument

A man has been charged with the stabbing murder of another man following a dispute in inner-city Melbourne.

The victim was stabbed during an altercation in Richmond about 8pm on Friday but he died on the way to hospital, police said.

Witnesses say the man staggered to a nearby 7-Eleven to get help and collapsed.

A 34-year-old Port Melbourne man was arrested a short time later and charged with murder.

He was due to front Melbourne Magistrates' Court tonight.
