The manager of a Melbourne jewellery shop targeted by armed robbers yesterday has returned to work today and vowed not to let the culprits win.

CCTV footage showed three masked men storming Imp Jewellery on Toorak Road in Toorak about 10.40am, armed with a machete and firearm.

Manager Stevan Morrow told 9NEWS he shielded his female colleague and demanded the intruders “get out of the shop”.

“I just heard a smash of glass… and was confronted with three masked guys with guns smashing glass,” he said.

“I basically just stared them down and said, ‘get out of my shop’. I don’t think I had time to… it was the fear factor, an adrenaline thing that went through me.

“I think it partly was anger, I don’t want these guys to win.

“I’m not a hero.”

The trio fled in a stolen silver Hyundai hatchback toward Wallace Avenue, with a large quantity of high-end jewellery.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
