Melbourne driver crashes after gunmen open fire on his car

Two gunmen have opened fire on a driver at a home in Melbourne’s north overnight.

Shots were fired at the man as he was reversing out of his driveway on Camp Road in Broadmeadows at around 11.10pm, police said.

Two men approached the man in his car on foot before firing upon his vehicle.

In his haste to avoid the gunfire, the driver sped backwards and collided with a second vehicle.

The gunmen fled the scene and remain on the run.

Two women in the second car received minor injuries in the incident and were treated by paramedics at the scene.

The driver escaped the attack uninjured.
