Melbourne dad mauled trying to save his labrador from a dog attack
A Melbourne father has spent two nights in hospital after he was mauled while trying to save his labrador from a dog attack.
Joe Chan said he was further shocked that the woman he claims was responsible for the two attacking dogs did not say a word to him, despite him and his dog being injured.
The 40-year-old factory worker was walking his dog Momo on Lakeview Avenue in Rowville in Melbourne's east about 10.40pm on New Year's Day when the incident occurred.

A woman was walking ahead of him with two animals when one of them turned back and pulled away from her to attack Momo.
The woman's other dog joined in the attack as Chan did everything he could to fight them off.
One of the dogs bit into Momo six times.
It then dragged Chan to the ground and pierced his skin seven times.
The woman collapsed against a wall while Chan was left bleeding and begging for help.
As neighbours rushed to help Chan, the woman walked away.
Chan said throughout the ordeal the woman did not say a single word.

He spent almost two hours waiting for an ambulance and two nights in hospital.
Momo is alive but traumatised.
Knox Council is investigating the incident.
Chan, an animal lover, said he didn't want the dogs put down, only for them to be controlled and for their owner to take responsibility.
"I hope that woman can come out and say sorry," he said.
