Cyclist caught on camera veering directly into oncoming traffic

A cyclist has been caught on camera veering directly into oncoming traffic during peak hour on a busy Melbourne road.

The video, which was uploaded to Dash Cam Owners Australia’s Facebook page on September 4, shows the cyclist riding towards traffic on Montague Street.

“This is why you don't take drugs and ride,” Dave Candy, who uploaded the video, said.

The cyclist, who appears to be wearing high-vis vest, can be seen riding across the road as oncoming cars are forced to quickly stop.

According to the camera’s timestamp, the incident occurred at 4:46pm on Monday.
