Bomb scare shuts down busy Melbourne CBD streets
Two bomb scares just hours apart have closed off parts of Melbourne's CBD this afternoon.
Traffic was shut on Swanston Street between Collins and Bourke Streets as the bomb squad investigated a suspicious item on Little Collins Street.
Victoria Police were called to the scene on Little Collins Street about 4.10pm and shut down that street as well.

After a safety check, they concluded there was no danger about 6.30pm. The roads have now been reopened.
It follows another safety check on Lonsdale Street about 1.55pm this afternoon.
A bomb disposal robot and an officer in explosive-protective gear were seen examining a black carry-on suitcase left on the footpath.

No issues were found with the bag.
The street was shut down between Russell and Exhibition Street to all traffic, but it has now been reopened.
The two spots in the CBD are only a few blocks from each other.
