Bus driver quits over terrifying ice attack

A Melbourne bus driver has quit his job and says his life is "wrecked" by a terrifying attack caught on camera of a teenage boy at the peak of an ice binge.

Video of the violent attack has been released showing the driver cowering to protect himself as the drug-fuelled teenager screams and lashes out in front of a packed bus.

"Are you gonna drive?" the boy yells at the driver after he is told to leave because he did not have a Myki card.

"Drive the f---ing bus."

Crying women and children escaped the bus as the attacker's friend attempted to restrain him during the confrontation on AFL grand final day last year, Nine News reports.

But little can be done to calm the boy, who at one stage wraps his hands around the bus driver's throat.

"I've never seen that much rage in a person before," the driver told Nine News.

"I thought he was going to kill me.

"I'm wrecked. He's wrecked my life. I'm scared."

The teenager is yet to be sentenced after pleading guilty in court to recklessly causing injury.
