Police said the man had earlier been spotted in Wenden Street in Mill Park after reports of a suspicious vehicle about 1.15pm.

"A check of the car identified the car was believed involved in a robbery last week and the Air Wing was called in to assist," police said.

The car drove off from police on Plenty Road before it was spotted travelling through Collingwood, Richmond and through Southbank before it came to a stop on Kings Way.
