Melbourne burglar steals WWII medals

The descendent of a Dutch sailor has had their Melbourne home broken into and their father's medals, uniform and war photographs stolen.

A burglar broke into the Narre Warren home, in Melbourne's southeast and stole a canvas case containing five Dutch navy medals along with a navy uniform, cap and album holding war photos on Monday.

The medals belonged to the victim's father, now deceased, who was a scout on a torpedo boat during World War II.
