Melbourne schoolgirls arrested in Singapore for alleged shoplifting
Five Melbourne students have been arrested in Singapore, accused of shoplifting from Victoria's Secret and Crocs shoes stores.
The year 10 girls from Bacchus Marsh Grammar were reportedly behind bars for 10 hours after they were caught with the items while on a school trip for a netball competition.
In a statement, the principal said "police have been firm, fair and thorough and the school is appreciative of their professionalism".

The students remain in Singapore, and there are no plans to bring them home early.
A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesperson said officials "are providing consular assistance to a small number of school students in Singapore".
"Owing to our privacy obligations, we are unable to provide further comment," the spokesperson said.
