Accused killer Glen McNamara returns to witness box

Accused murderer and former police officer Glen McNamara is expected to face more questions from his co-accused Roger Rogerson's lawyer when he returns to the witness box at his Supreme Court trial.

Yesterday, Mr McNamara denied he had intended to kill 20-year-old student Jamie Gao when he left home on May 20, 2014, wearing a hoodie, cap and sunglasses and carrying a plastic bag.

His movements were captured on CCTV and Rogerson's lawyer, George Thomas, told the NSW Supreme Court Mr McNamara left home an hour before Mr Gao was shot dead.

Mr Thomas accused Mr McNamara of donning a disguise and carrying a .25 calibre firearm.

"Your purpose was to engage in drug supply and kill Jamie Gao," he said.

"You were in possession of a .25 calibre firearm."

Mr McNamara responded by saying "No, that's not true," and said he didn't remember what was in the plastic bag.

Mr Rogerson and Mr McNamara have both pleaded not guilty to the murder, and have accused each other of the shooting.

The crown case centres around allegations the two men shot the 20-year-old before stuffing his body into a surfboard bag and dumping it at sea.

The body was spotted by fishermen on May 26, 2014, wrapped in the bag and a blue tarpaulin, in waters off Cronulla.
