McDonald’s workers terrified after masked bandit hold-up

Terrified young workers at a McDonald's store in Melbourne's west were held up by two masked thugs armed with a gun and knife.

CCTV footage released by police two weeks ago shows a man holding a gun with a white scarf covering his face threatening a young employee.

The young worker holds up his arms, but another masked bandit - this one wearing black - rushes the cash register with a knife.

He then jumps atop the counter and demands the store staff hand over cash.

The staff remain with their hands in the air as the men clear the cash registers and put their loot in backpacks.

The armed robbery occurred at 1.50am on November 26 at the Altona North McDonald's outlet located at the intersection of Blackshaws and Millers Roads.

The robbers used a white Nissan Pulsar sedan that was stolen from nearby Newport and returned there shortly after the armed robbery.

Police believe both young men are Caucasian.
