British soldiers 'shouted abuse' at Matildas during football friendly

An investigation is underway after British soldiers reportedly shouted sexist abuse at Australia's Matildas during a friendly match with England at Cyprus.
Witnesses said a group of 10 soldiers near the Australian dugout had shouted abuse at the players, particularly defender Servet Uzunlar.
The Football Federation of Australia is awaiting a response from the national women's team.
British reporter Sophie Dowery told media the fact the onlookers were soldiers had intimidated others.
"We weren't sure whether to tweet about it because it's the army and we didn't want to offend people - I'm a very proud English person and I'm very proud of what the army do - but I was ashamed of them today," she said.
Another witness said Uzunlar had been the recipient of "horrible comment", Fairfax Media reports.
Australia lost the match - a warm-up for both teams' World Cup campaigns - 3-0.
