A monster crocodile has shocked anglers after surfacing on a popular Queensland beach.

A woman had just caught two small sharks on Cardwell Beach, halfway between Cairns and Townsville in Far North Queensland, when the crocodile made its way to the shoreline.

As the beast edged its way across the sand and water, the woman pulled out her phone and hit record.

"I just caught a shark, which I couldn't get back into the water because this fella was coming, and now he's going to come in and eat it," she can be heard saying in the video.

As waves lapped at the crocodile's body, it moved in on the two small sharks laying on the shore.

"Oh my lord, he's like one, two, three… I can see like four metres and he's still got tail in the water," she said.

After the crocodile had his fill he turned and disappeared under the waves.
