An experienced Brisbane massage therapist has been charged with rape and sexual assault after multiple women came forward to police.

Police allege the Moorooka father, 67, spent 16 years preying on at least 10 of his clients “at numerous, beauty and physiotherapy businesses”.

The man is currently facing more than 20 charges, including rape and sexual assault.

According to police the man operated as a masseur between 2000 and 2016 in Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Brisbane.

He was today denied bail on the grounds police had received “so many complaints”, Magistrate Deborah Vasta said.

The Moorooka man was already on bail at the time of his arrest for similar offences and had been ordered to stop practicing massage therapy.

He is expected to spend Christmas and the beginning of the new year in prison, away from his wife and children.

The 67-year-old’s case won't be heard in the district court until March.
