Married At First Sight is a hit for the Nine Network after more than a million viewers tuned in to watch two total strangers get hitched.

The new reality program was the most popular non-news program on Monday night with 1.134 million viewers, narrowly beating Network Ten's MasterChef (1.129 million).

The top spot of the night, however, went to Nine News with 1.275 million viewers, according to OzTAM overnight ratings figures.
