Mark Scott denies asking for ABC extension

ABC boss Mark Scott denies he requested extra time at the helm of the public broadcaster, despite reports that he sought a one-year extension.

The ABC board has yet to come up with a replacement for Mr Scott after his second five-year term expires in July 2016.

Asked on Wednesday about media reports that he had requested a one-year extension, Mr Scott told a Senate committee that was "absolutely incorrect".
