Paddle out to honour Sydney dad killed in shark attack
Surfers have paddled out into the ocean off Sydney's northern beaches in honour of a local father who was killed in a shark attack.
Mark Sanguinetti died after a suspected great white shark attack at Tuncurry Beach on the NSW mid-north coast while on his annual surfing trip just under two weeks ago.
Today dozens of friends and supporters gathered at Palm Beach and paddled out into the sea, some holding sunflowers.

They formed a circle offshore and paused to remember Mr Sanguinetti.
Mr Sanguinetti was a pilot with Qantas for 21 years, who would often surf at North Avalon and nearby Palm Beach.
Following his sudden death, his two daughters Bella, 18, and 21-year-old Jemima wrote a letter calling the ocean one of his first loves.

"We all knew him as a legend with a heart as big as the ocean which was his first of many loves," the sisters wrote.
"He's home now ... in the ocean and in our hearts ... and he'll be riding the waves of life with us forever."
Mr Sanguinetti was on a yearly surf trip with friends when he was bitten on the upper thigh.
After being dragged ashore by friends, Mr Sanguinetti went into cardiac arrest due to blood loss.
