Fatal Manus Island detention riot inquiry report release due

A long-awaited report from a Senate inquiry into a fatal riot at the Manus Island immigration detention centre is set for release.

Iranian asylum seeker Reza Barati died and 62 others injured during a clash with the centre's Papua New Guinean staff and locals in February.

A government report found there was no single factor that sparked the violence.

A Senate committee will release its report on Thursday following a separate nine-month inquiry.

PNG police in July charged a G4S and a Salvation Army worker with Mr Barati's murder.

Police are still hunting three other suspects.
