Man charged after man dies following Boxing day attack in NSW town

A 50-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after a 46-year-old man died in hospital following an alleged assault on Boxing Day in a NSW town.

Emergency services found the man semi-conscious at 9.30am at Trinculo Place under the Queens Bridge in Queanbeyan.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Queanbeyan District Hospital, where he later died.

Police set up a crime scene where he was found, as well as at a nearby hotel.

A 50-year-old man was arrested at a home on Lowe Street in Queanbeyan at 12.30am today.

He has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, custody of knife in a public place and manslaughter.

He was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court tomorrow.
