Man's ear bitten half off during brawl at pub on Central Coast

A man has been hospitalised after he had half of his ear bitten off during a brawl at a pub on the Central Coast.

Authorities said they were called to the property on Pacific Highway in Charmhaven last night after reports several people were brawling.

Police said when they arrived the group of people become aggressive towards them and had to be subdued with capsicum spray.

Five people were treated by paramedics, including a 28-year-old man who had the upper part of his ear bitten off during the altercation.

He was transported to Wyong Hospital for further treatment.

A 44-year-old security guard, who attempted to intervene the brawl, was also taken to hospital suffering from injuries to her ribs and ankle.

Police said a 28-year-old man was arrested at the pub, whilst a 25-year-old man was arrested at a service station a short distance away.

Both men are assisting police with their inquiries.
