Death of man found on Surfers Paradise beach 'non-suspicious'

Police are treating the death of a man whose body was found on a Gold Coast beach this morning as non-suspicious.

Emergency services were called to Northcliffe Beach at Surfers Paradise just after 5am when a passer-by made the grim discovery.

The man is believed to have been aged in is 20s and lived on the Gold Coast.

"We have identified the male, he would appear to be a drug user with some sort of criminal history and it looks like it is a non-suspicious death," Detective Inspector Brendan Smith said.
