Police identify man found dead in river in Sydney's west

Police have identified a man who was found dead by a river in Clyde, west of Sydney, yesterday.
A fisherman discovered the body about 1pm yesterday (AEDT) on the western side of Duck River, near an old oil refinery, the NSW Police Force said in a statement.

Police retrieved the body and released a description of the man, including details of several distinctive tattoos.
Earlier today, a man told police that the description matched his friend, and police have since confirmed that the deceased man is a 27-year-old from Auburn.
A post mortem examination will be conducted to determine how the man died.
