Adelaide man who allegedly killed wife while bushwalking refused bail

An Adelaide man charged with murdering his wife during a hike through the Tasmanian wilderness will remain in custody awaiting a second court appearance.

Robin Michael, 63, faced an after hours session of Devonport Magistrate's Court last night charged with murdering his partner Kerry Michael, 44.

Police believe she was killed on Wednesday and her body was found a day later on a walking track near the summit of Mt Rowland in the state's north.

Mr Michael was refused bail and is due to face court again on Tuesday.
