Man to front court over Gold Coast siege

A man involved in a seven-hour stand-off with police on the Gold Coast will front court on gun and drug charges.
Police negotiators were called in during the drama, which began about midday on Sunday and saw part of Palm Beach put into lock down.
The 26-year-old, who was the sole occupant of the house, was taken into custody about 7pm on Sunday.

The man has been charged with possessing a dangerous drug and a shortened firearm. He'll face the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
