Sydney man to face court after allegedly attacking woman known to him

A man will face court today after he allegedly attacked a woman known to him in Sydney's south-west last week.

Police were called to a home on Canterbury Road in Campsie on April 21 at 7.30am to reports of an alleged domestic violence-related assault.

Officers spoke to a 41-year-old woman who had suffered injuries to her left eye and neck.

Police arrested a 45-year-old man at a home on Glenfield Road, Casula, about 5.45pm yesterday following an investigation into the alleged assault.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with several domestic violence-related charges including intentionally choking without consent (DV), assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), destroying or damaging property (DV), stalking/intimidating intending fear or physical harm (DV) and common assault (DV).

He was refused bail and will appear in court today.
