Man threatens two guards with gun

A brightly dressed bandit threatened two security guards with a gun in Sydney's west on Friday, police said.

The man, believed to be in his mid-20s, threatened the two guards outside Parklea markets at Sunnyholt Road, in Parklea, about 2.20pm (AEDT) on Friday before fleeing.

No one was injured, police say, and the man fled in a purple or blue Proton Satria hatchback with distinctive black bumper bars.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a solid build, and was last seen wearing a hat, an orange fluorescent high-visibility top and blue shorts.

People who see the car or the man are urged not to approach but to phone triple zero.
