Image released of man sought over Gold Coast ‘shooting rampage’

Queensland Police has released an image of the man they believe responsible for an apparent shooting rampage on the Gold Coast overnight.

Police are seeking help to locate Ryan Jamieson, who they believe could assist their inquiries.

The alleged shooter has been on the run since firing upon cars and houses in an apparent shooting rampage overnight.

He also reportedly threatened police after phoning the Surfers Paradise station.

Another man contacted police believing his life was being threatened and at least two Gold Coast residents reported seeing an armed man in their back yard during the evening.

Officers were called to a home in San Fernando Drive in Worongary after shots were fired towards the empty house at about 7:45pm.

At about 10pm, more shots were fired into a car outside another empty home in Sarina Place in Helensvale.

The house was broken into and a car stolen, with police believing the incident is linked to the earlier Worongary shooting.

No one was injured in either incident.

Anybody who sees Mr Jamieson is urged not to approach him but to contact police as soon as possible.
