Man stabbed with kitchen knives at Sydney party

A woman has been arrested after a man was stabbed in the face and chest with two kitchen knives in Sydney's inner east.

The woman, 24, picked up the kitchen knives when asked to leave a party in Waterloo at 11.30pm on Wednesday, police said.

A 46-year-old man received chest and face wounds before fleeing the apartment, but was met by paramedics nearby and taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Police arrested the woman at the scene and she remains at Redfern Police Station as investigations continue.
