Man stabbed with bottle in violent brawl outside Sydney restaurant

A man has been stabbed with a bottle in a violent brawl in Sydney's south-west overnight.

Police were called to a restaurant on the corner of Bay Street and the Grand Parade in Brighton-Le-Sands just before 10.30pm.

Two groups of men who were seen fighting outside the restaurant fled before police arrived.

A short time later, a 29-year-old man was driven to St George Hospital with stab wounds to his chest, head and arm.

The injured man and his friends are not co-operating with police.

Police established a crime scene at the restaurant which has been examined by specialist officers.

Inquiries are continuing.
