Man charged over stabbing attack at Moreton Bay unit

A young man has been charged after he allegedly stabbed a man nine times during fight at a unit in Margate, north-east of Brisbane.

The 21-year-old Pialba man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and going armed to cause fear, after he was arrested at the scene last night.

Police believe a fight broke out after he visited a man known to him at a Tudor Court unit about 9.50pm.

His 42-year-old alleged victim suffered nine stab wounds to his back and a punctured lung.

He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and remains there in a serious but stable condition.

A friend of the older man told 9NEWS “there was blood everywhere”.

“I was freaking out, crying… I was just worried,” he said.

The 21-year-old is due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court tomorrow.
