Man stabbed in buttocks wrestling keys of Mustang from home intruders

A man has been stabbed in the buttocks during a struggle for the keys of his Mustang after two masked intruders broke into his home in Sydney’s west.

The two masked men forced their way into the 43-year-old father’s Toongabbie home on Derbyshire Avenue, and tried to steal the keys to his luxury silver car just after midnight.

The homeowner was sliced with a knife and stabbed in the buttock when he got in a scuffle with the two armed men as he tried to protect his property.

The intruders managed to make off with the man’s wallet and phone, but dropped the keys in the struggle.

The man was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Police attended the scene and are searching for the two men responsible, who remain on the run.
