Man sought during attempted murder investigation in Gold Coast hinterland

Police are seeking a man who they say might be able to help their investigation into the shooting of a man on the Gold Coast in Queensland yesterday, which is being treated as a case of attempted murder.

Emergency services were called to Tallebudgera Creek Road at Tallebudgera Valley in the hinterland at about 12pm yesterday (1pm AEDT).

They found a man with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his shoulder and head.

The 59-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police believe the victim approached a man after seeing him on his property.

The alleged intruder then produced a gun and shot the 59-year-old before leaving the scene on foot, police say.

Police locked down the area for some time before lifting it later in the afternoon.

Officers now wish to speak to a man described as Caucasian, aged in his 50s, with facial hair and an untidy hairdo.

He appears skinny in the face, with yellow-coloured teeth.

At the time of the shooting, the man was wearing work shorts, a flannel-type shirt, a dark coloured slouch hate, and tan work boots.
