Man sets dog on NSW police during raid

A 20-year-old man is facing a string of charges after setting his dog on police during a drug raid at his home in South Grafton in northern NSW.

Police, investigating the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in exchange for stolen property, executed a search warrant at the Abelia Way address about 1pm on Monday.

Weapons and ammunition were found during the raid and police also seized jewellery, road bikes, a trail bike, electronic equipment, fishing gear, mobile phones, cash, 1.1 grams of a substance believed to be methylamphetamine, 61 grams of cannabis and 12 cannabis seeds.

The 20-year-old was charged with numerous offences including urging a dog to attack, obstruction, possessing ammunition, possessing a prohibited weapon, three counts of possession, drug supply and dealing in property suspected to be the proceeds of crime.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Grafton Local Court on July 14.

Three other men at the home during the raid have been charged with assaulting police, hindering police and offensive language.
