Man's decomposed body found in Cairns

A man's severely decomposed body has been found on a traffic island in Cairns.

Police say a woman crossing a street in the suburb of Bungalow came across the body lying in bushes on Tuesday morning.

A spokesman says the body had likely been there for two to three days and was severely decomposed.

The man is yet to be identified.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
