Man refused bail after wielding knife at Wollongong train station

A man has been charged after allegedly threatening a man with a knife in Wollongong overnight.

Just after 8.30pm, police were called to reports a man was armed with a knife at Wollongong railway station.

It’s alleged the man was threatening another man outside the station.

Police were seized the knife and arrested the man.

The 34-year-old was charged with having custody of a knife in public, attempting to intimidate police and armed with the intent to commit an indictable offence.

He was refused bail and will appear in court on Monday.
