Fugitive arrested over stabbing death of Bundaberg boxer Landon Delinecourt

A man wanted over the stabbing death of a Bundaberg boxer has been arrested by police.

Landon Delinecourt, 24, was injured in a struggle in front of his family on Cummins Road in Avoca on Friday.

He was rushed to Bundaberg Base Hospital with stab wounds to his torso but later died from his injuries.

Police later said Luke Michael Turnbull, who was known to Mr Delinecourt, was wanted for questioning over the incident.

Turnbull, 35, was arrested today in Quay Street in Bundaberg and is assisting police with their inquiries.

Mr Delinecourt's 47-year-old father also sustained serious head injuries in the incident but has since been released from hospital.

Investigators are yet to disclose why Mr Delacourt was attacked.

Drugs and gang links have both been ruled out as a motive.
