Man missing in WA without food or water on 44-degree day
An urgent search is underway for a man missing in Perth's north in scorching temperatures.
The mercury hit 44.7 degrees as police searched for 23-year-old Lucas Ormond, whose father found his Nissan Patrol crashed and bogged off a side road Melaleuca, in the Bullsbrook region, yesterday morning.
Police, who don't know how the four-wheel-drive suffered such extensive damage, released an appeal for help yesterday afternoon saying they were concerned for his welfare.

Ormond wasn't believed to have any food or water with him.
Dozens of SES, Fire and Rescue and police workers were out since just after midday yesterday, bracing tough conditions themselves.
"The challenge we find today is the extreme heat our genuine concerns for the person at risk, given the weather conditions and the effect it's having, not only on searchers, but potentially on him," Senior Sergeant Craig Fisher said.
Ormond is 193 centimetres tall, of medium build with brown hair, facial hair and a neck tattoo.
Police had been planning to search through the night and called on anyone with information to contact them.
