Man in critical condition after being struck by van in Sydney’s CBD

A pedestrian is in a critical condition in hospital after he was struck down by a van in Sydney’s CBD this morning. 

The man, believed to be in his 40s, was hit just after 11am on Elizabeth Street, near Liverpool Street.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the van was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Police are investigating the incident.
