Man hospitalised after Sydney stabbing

A 40-year-old man is in hospital after being stabbed multiple times in the chest in Sydney's west.

Emergency crews were called to a High Street townhouse in Penrith about 8pm on Sunday where they found the injured man.

He was taken to hospital where he is reported to be in a stable condition.

Police have established a crime scene and appealed for information as inquiries into the incident continue.
