Man hit with piece of wood in break-in

A man suffered serious head injuries from being hit in the head with a piece of wood during a home invasion in Brisbane's bayside, police say.

The 24-year-old man also sustained a fractured arm and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 23-year-old Redcliffe man has been charged over the incident.

Police will allege he entered a house at Kelliher Street, Rothwell, and used a piece of wood to hit a man in the head and arm about 7am (AEST) Sunday.

He will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on Monday.
