Man found unconscious on Sydney street
Police are investigating after a man was found unconscious on a Sydney street.
The 34-year-old was discovered outside a residence on Commonwealth Street, Surry Hills, about 10.30am on Sunday.
Police were called to the area at midnight on Saturday after reports of a man shouting outside a residence on the same street, however, officers were unable to locate him.
When he was eventually found, police tried to help the man until paramedics arrived before he was taken to St Vincent's Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
A police spokesman was unable to say how the man was rendered unconscious or whether he had been assaulted.
A critical incident team from Surry Hills Area Command is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
