Man fighting for life after suspected targeted shooting in Jacana

A 50-year-old Truganina man has been left fighting for life after a suspected targeted shooting in Melbourne's north around 12pm today.

Police officers were called to reports of an injured man on the M80 Ring Road in the northern suburb of Jacana, near Pascoe Vale Road.

Officers responding to the call were unable to locate the reportedly injured man.

Police were later notified that a man had presented to a hospital in Parkvale.

He was suffering from suspected gunshot wounds and is now undergoing treatment for life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the suspected shooting, which they currently believe to be a targeted attack.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage has been urged by police to come forward.
