Man taken to hospital after falling from yacht mast in Newcastle
9NEWS
A man's attempt at being a swashbuckling pirate has landed him in hospital after he fell several metres from the mast of a yacht in Newcastle.
The 20-year-old was taken to John Hunter Hospital yesterday after he was captured on video falling on to the deck of a yacht berthed at Queen's Wharf.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 5.20pm, with the ship's crew assisting the man before paramedics arrived.

The unknown man was discharged from hospital this morning, thankfully without any broken bones.
While he may have walked away from the ship relatively unscathed, a career sailing the Seven Seas is more than likely off the cards.
