A crane has toppled over on the Melbourne docks injuring the operator.
The crane, used to pick up and transport shipping containers, fell in the West Melbourne yard on Monday morning.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the man was inside the crane's cabin about 15 metres above the ground when it fell.

"He was initially trapped and MFB crews had to cut away part of the cabin so that paramedics could get to him," he said.
The man suffered extensive cuts to his head, serious arm injuries and possible spine injuries.
He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
