Man facing 252 child sexual assault charges extradited from New Zealand
A 67-year-old man facing 252 child sexual abuse charges will front Parramatta local court today after being extradited from New Zealand last night.
Detectives from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command began extradition proceedings in November, 2011 against the man who was living in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The High Court of New Zealand approved the man's extradition last week.
Upon arrival in NSW the man was held and charged at Mascot Police Station and bail refused before his appearance in Parramatta local court.
The allegations follow an investigation by detectives from Strike Force Lozano, which was formed to investigate allegations of multiple child sexual assault offences at a school near Morrisset on the NSW Central Coast in the 1970s and 80s.
