Man dies in NSW south coast unit fire

A man has died and two other residents have escaped uninjured after a fire at a unit on the NSW far south coast.

The blaze broke out in the Lamont Street unit in Bermagui at about 9.40pm Tuesday and is not believed to be suspicious, police say.

A 54-year-old man was treated by paramedics but died at the scene. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
