Pedestrian dies after being hit by bus

An 81-year-old pedestrian has died after he was hit by a bus in Sydney’s north.

The man was crossing Bridge Road in Hornsby when he was struck by a bus which was turning right from Peats Ferry Road about 1pm today.

Witnesses conducted first aid until paramedics arrived, but the man, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

An investigation into the incident has been launched and a brief will be prepared for the Coroner.
