Man dies after crashing into tree in Sydney’s west

A father of three has been killed after crashing his car into a tree in Sydney's west this morning.

David Williams, 28, was behind the wheel of his Holden Commodore when it veered off Stoney Creek Road and crashed into a tree.

The force of the crash caused the car to split into half. Mr Williams was trapped inside the wreckage for more than an hour and later died at the scene.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle at the time.

Investigators are looking at whether Mr Williams was speeding when he lost control of his car.
